Originally known as Mad Cornish Projectionist, MCP has evolved into a broader platform for media, cinema and projection work. Cinema remains at the heart of it, but the direction now extends into consultancy, training, writing, research, technical development, curated resources and new platform ideas.
The name now describes both the experience behind the work and the different ways that experience is applied: solving practical problems, explaining specialist subjects clearly, preserving useful knowledge and developing new tools or formats where they can add value.

Built on long experience
Peter J. Knight has worked in cinema since 1997 across projection, presentation, technical operations, writing, training, editorial work and systems thinking. That mix of practical and strategic experience shapes MCP's approach: grounded in how things actually work, but always looking at where they need to go next.
A background in metadata and systems since 2000 adds another strand: understanding how information is organised, connected, documented and made useful. MCP brings those operational, editorial and structural perspectives together rather than treating them as separate disciplines.
The route here has included projection and cinema technology, BBC and archive work, product and information systems, audiovisual and event delivery, and BFBS Movies on the Road. Peter's continuing industry work includes Cinema Technology Magazine and long-standing involvement with the Cinema Technology Community. Those are not decorative credentials; they are different views of how content, equipment, people and audiences meet.
